1.
As I break the soil, with the shovel in my hands Sweat drips from my brow, evaporating on the ground The headstone behind the fresh grave reads my name, as the date exclaims, it happens today My mind was so clear How was i supposed to stay awake fog rolled across my mindscape Walls crafted by masons of my psyche Cracks spider webbing breaking down an entry Don’t break me I can’t see, So cloudy I saw them laying on the painting And when you stepped into the colors You got washed away, by the different shades I lost you, I lost the pallet, and you lost the way Don’t drown in the color What do you see In parallel themes Distorted dreams Don’t put the brush down My veins flow red Don’t let your soul drown Bring it back from the dead Rot the gray shade Watch it radiate

If every day didn’t feel like (the funeral) The funeral for my motives. If every day didn’t feel so mundane Like I’m drifting from place to place Just a vision passing with no rest There never was for the wicked (There never was for the wicked) Like cyanide The memories erode Behind eyes It never slowed Losing sight Nothing to be stowed Losing the fight Seams come unsewn Another memory leaves temporal Lurking at the edge of my vision Mnemosyne's watchful eyes A stare that ruptures My very core And for a long time when I walked branches broke under my feet, the weight of Atlas felt crushing, But in time I learned that the weight I carry, is not all just for me, No! Like cyanide The memories erode Behind eyes It never slowed Turn back time This weight is my own No more lies I’m no longer alone I was always alone

The sun never felt so bright Feel like basking in the sunshine And in due time The moon rose Giving way to starry night I looked up and saw A painting in the sky Like God hand painted it Just for my eyes I can see through the veil There’s a solace in the light Where do we go when we die Where do we go when we die What color is the sky What hue sits in the night Behold the light A faint blue glow, Fists clenching tight Pale like fresh snow That’s when I sigh I wasn’t blind I just lost my sight Nothing permanent Just a shadow distraction Just a shadow distraction What I wouldn’t give To clear my iris again The sun felt so bright

In Memoriam 06:25
My eyes stay closed For the last time No vision exposed Sole void, no joy Black rose on the corpse One million memories parsed Do I have the time? Is it finished? The task, completed Well, when will I feel it? There was no light behind those eyes I escaped the Haze With help from the array My mind laid out for me Adjacent to memories I seem to recall fondly I found rest It laid out in the bed I found rest It fell out of my head I can’t stop my arms from reaching I can’t stop my soul from searching I can’t stop my heart from bleeding I can’t stop my feet from moving I can’t see where I’m going This can’t be it? What? There’s nothing here! Well, maybe that’s the point There’s nowhere to go After you die It’s the same thing you see When you close your eyes I watched myself die Do you know what that’s like? Now I lay arms crossed, lid closed Roses wilted on my coffin Carry the stench of decay Engravings long forgotten They once spelled out my name I’m at peace No one is waiting for me Life is so beautiful
